How is that having a ten year old can make you feel so old? Is it because 10 is entering the double digits and coming dangerously close to 13? This guy is a sweet teddy bear at heart still…but is quickly becoming quite grown up in many ways. We love him so much, but he will have to deal with the fact that he still remains our guinea pig for the other two- Hopefully we don’t screw you up too much J.E.T…… Often, we feel you are teaching us so much more than we’re trying to teach you. One central theme that has definitely caught our ears lately is that of grace. His prayers often include, “thank you for giving us so much grace we don’t deserve..”- ah, from the mouths of babes….grace, grace, grace- what we just need more of daily. Happy 10th Jude, dude….we love you!

One would think that in the 36 years we have been alive, at least one of us would have been to the top of the arch… nope! Jude snagged some free tickets for a special school night at the Arch, so we all took advantage of free dinner, museum tour and the ride to the top….the highest national monument in the US…
As soon as we reached the entrance to the museum, torrential downpour and very high winds set in…..in fact we dodged one of the most dangerous storm systems underground while the rest of the city was pelted with large hail and gail-force winds that took down lots of trees.
The lighting wasn’t the greatest and our cameras weren’t cooperating, but everyone had such a great time!

So, the kids have decided their favorite spot in the park is a little creek with tons and tons of great rocks that are perfect to hurl into the water (or collect in Sadie’s case). That child is notorious for hauling things home in her backpack. Recently, she decided to ‘borrow’ some huge crystal landscape rocks from our good friends while playing over there. I opened up her backpack….and there they were- all 5 pounds of them. She said she just couldn’t resist!
